Riverside High School is a public high school in Basin, Wyoming, United States. It is attended by students from throughout Big Horn County School District #4 including the towns of Basin and Manderson. The mascot is the rebel.
Riverside has had recent success in athletics, in 2007, their football team won the state 2A championship. Riverside students have always competed at a high level in wrestling and knowledge bowls. Riverside has an active foreign exchange program, and in 2007-08 there were three such students.
RHS students have won a lot of competitions state-wide. They showed not only strong results in sports (football, track, volleyball, basketball), but also in other academically oriented activites. RHS took first place among the 9-10 grades in 2A. Additionally, a student from RHS got first place individually.
Riverside's Speech and Debate team is affiliated with the National Forensic League, and has seen great success in the past years, routinely winning tournaments as well as placing competitors in state final rounds.
Riverside is also active in the Wyoming Academic Challenge (WAC), a series of quiz bowl tournaments. John Tate, founder of the WAC, is currently an instructor at Riverside High School, and his team has seen winning seasons for the past fifteen years. Riverside captured WAC small school(200 or less enrollment) state titles in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2007, 2009, and 2011. Riverside also won overall state titles in 1998 and 2009. State runnerup WAC titles were also achieved in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2008, and 2010. In addition, Riverside has won a record six consecutive Big Horn Basin Knowledge Bowl championships from 2006-2011.
